Event Announcement: Researching the European EHRxFormat and Using Academia to Foster Global EHR Collaboration

Join us for an insightful event focused on the European Electronic Health Record exchange format (EHRxFormat) and the role of academia in fostering global EHR collaboration. This hybrid event will take place on 1st July 2024, from 11:30 to 13:00 BST (12:30 to 14:00 CEST) at the School of Public Health, White City Campus, Imperial College London.

Objectives:

  1. Discuss the European EHRxFormat: Explore the current state and future developments of the European Electronic Health Record exchange format (EHRxFormat).
  2. Foster Academic Collaboration: Identify how academia can evaluate the impact so global EHR interoperability and data exchange.
  3. Value Addition for Citizens: Highlight the benefits of EHR data sharing for (and with) citizens, focusing on improved healthcare outcomes.

11:30 – 11:35 | Welcome and Introduction

  • Content: Overview of the event objectives, agenda, and logistics for hybrid participation.

11:35 – 11:50 | Keynote Address

  • Speaker: Henrique Martins
  • Content: Introduction to the European EHRxFormat, its significance, and the role of research in enhancing EHR interoperability.

11:50 – 12:30 | Panel Discussion: Academia’s Role in EHR Collaboration; Citizen-centric research

  • Speakers: Ana Luísa Neves, Mohamad El-Ubadydli, Jeremy Thorp
  • Content: Discuss how academic research can support global EHR initiatives, with examples of successful collaborations and ongoing projects. Presentation of a case study demonstrating the positive impacts of EHR interoperability on patient care and health outcomes.
