  • by

The XpanDH project reached a significant milestone with a pivotal event that underscored the power of collaboration and knowledge sharing in healthcare innovation. Hosted by ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and empirica Communication and Technology Research, in partnership with esteemed leaders Professor Luisa Lima and Professor Henrique Martins, alongside Carola Schulz and Anderson Carmo, XpanDH project manager, the patient engagement webinar held in Portugal was a resounding success.

Empowering Patient Associations

Gathering over 20 participants from 16 Portuguese patient associations, the webinar served as a vibrant platform for dialogue on the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF). It highlighted how health data interoperability can revolutionize patient experiences and enhance healthcare delivery across Europe.

Insightful Discussions

The breakout sessions were particularly enlightening, as participants shared their experiences and navigated challenges related to health interoperability. Discussions ranged from the barriers posed by fragmented health data systems to the pressing need for streamlined digital solutions. Emphasis was also placed on effective communication strategies with patients, crucial for fostering trust and improving health outcomes.

Looking Forward

The success of this webinar is a testament to the commitment of all participants to drive meaningful change in healthcare. Moving forward, XpanDH remains dedicated to developing innovative solutions that address the real needs of patients and healthcare providers alike.
